message: daily just follow my post maximum i will cover upto 90% of abap.
2. Float [ F ] 2. Numeric char [ N ]
3. Packed decimal [ P ] 3. Dates [ D]
4. Time [ T ]
>> Char [ C ] is alpha numeric ,it accept both integers as well as characters.
>> NOTE:
Here I, F, D, T are fixed length data types and P ,C,N are variable data types.
INTEGER:
SYNTAX of FLOAT(F):
Data < variable name> Type F .
eg:
Data A TYPE F.
>> The initial or default value of float is .00
>> The maximum decimal is 2 only.
SYNTAX of Packed Decimal(P):
Data < variable name> (<length>) Type P decimal <num>.
eg:
Data A (10) TYPE P decimals 3.
>> The initial or default value of packed decimal is .000.
SYNTAX of CHAR(C):
Data < variable name> (<length>)Type C .
eg:
Data A (5) TYPE C.
>> The initial or default value of char is space or empty.
SYNTAX of NUMERIC CHAR(N):
Data < variable name> (<length>) Type N.
eg:
Data A (5) TYPE N.
>> The initial or default value of numeric char is 000(based on the length).
SYNTAX of DATE(D):
Data < variable name> Type D.
eg:
Data A TYPE D.
>> The initial or default value of Date is 00000000(8 zeros).
>>The initial format is YYYYMMDD(eg: 2014 12 08).
SYNTAX of TIME(T):
Data < variable name> Type T.
eg:
Data A TYPE D.
>> The initial or default value of Date is 000000(6 zeros).
>>The initial format is HHMMSS.
note:
By default a variable is the character datatype and length is one.
DATA TYPES IN ABAP
Data type specifies what type of the variable it is.
data types in abap are divided into two categories.
NUMERIC DATATYPE CHARACTER DATATYPE
1. Integer [ I ] 1. Char [ C ]2.
INTEGER:
integer takes all the integer values.
syntax of Integer (I) is.
Data < variable name> Type I .
eg:
Data A TYPE I .
The initial or default value of integer is 0.
The length of integer is 10.
SYNTAX of FLOAT(F):
Data < variable name> Type F .
eg:
Data A TYPE F.
>> The initial or default value of float is .00
>> The maximum decimal is 2 only.
SYNTAX of Packed Decimal(P):
Data < variable name> (<length>) Type P decimal <num>.
eg:
Data A (10) TYPE P decimals 3.
>> The initial or default value of packed decimal is .000.
SYNTAX of CHAR(C):
Data < variable name> (<length>)Type C .
eg:
Data A (5) TYPE C.
>> The initial or default value of char is space or empty.
SYNTAX of NUMERIC CHAR(N):
Data < variable name> (<length>) Type N.
eg:
Data A (5) TYPE N.
>> The initial or default value of numeric char is 000(based on the length).
SYNTAX of DATE(D):
Data < variable name> Type D.
eg:
Data A TYPE D.
>> The initial or default value of Date is 00000000(8 zeros).
>>The initial format is YYYYMMDD(eg: 2014 12 08).
SYNTAX of TIME(T):
Data < variable name> Type T.
eg:
Data A TYPE D.
>> The initial or default value of Date is 000000(6 zeros).
>>The initial format is HHMMSS.
note:
By default a variable is the character datatype and length is one.
